SIR,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 213 of the 1st ultimo reporting the cessation of the epidemic of bubonic plague.
I have read the despatch with interest and satisfaction; a copy of the sixth paragraph so far as it relates to the services of Dr. WILM has been sent to the Foreign Office for communication to the German Ambassador, and it remains for me cordially to acknowledge the self-sacrificing efforts of the two nursing Sisters, Miss McIntosu and Miss IRELAND, and the good work of Mr. COOPER and his colleagues on the Sanitary Board, and of Dr. CLARK, the Medical Officer of Health.
I have, &c.,
